Webbinarium: Hållbara internationella kultursamarbeten

Hur hållbart är ditt projekt?
Detta webbinarium ger en möjlighet till fördjupning i frågor rörande ekologisk hållbarhet och internationellt kultursamarbete. I Ny europeisk agenda för kultur från 2018 och programförslaget för Kreativa Europa 2021-2027, finns kopplingen till European Green Deal och Agenda 2030 med FN:s globala hållbarhetsmål kring social, ekonomisk och ekologisk hållbarhet. Vi kommer här att diskutera hur man ur klimatsynpunkt på olika sätt och med olika medel kan jobba för att upprätthålla en hög hållbarhet i sitt internationella projekt. Genom exempel på best practice kommer vi också undersöka hur man kan öka kvaliteten i projektets aktiviteter genom aktivt att ta in dessa aspekter.

Webbinariet har utvecklats i samarbete med SHIFT-projektet (medfinansierat av EU:s Erasmus+ program) i samarbete med ELIA och Kreativa Europa-deskarna i Sverige och Danmark.

° Welcome and introduction 

° Laying the groundwork: ELIA – lead organisation on the Climate Change theme of the SHIFT project 

SHIFT is an Erasmus+ project that will provide training initiatives for the arts and culture sector in its role in shaping societies. The goal of the climate change theme will focus on providing capacity building for leaders and staff of cultural networks on how to claim a role in the action required to achieve the climate change goals of the UN SDGs

° Inspiring examples highlighting some of the key steps to take 

HOME is a cultural centre in Manchester and an active member of Manchester Arts Sustainability Team. The HOME team is committed to best sustainable policy and practice. Working hard to reduce their environmental impacts, they continually monitor and report on their activities in order to better understand and improve their performance using science-based targets. Through training and knowledge-sharing HOME enables its staff to become Carbon Literacy champions, engaging and inspiring their local and international communities, audiences and partners. HOME advances the green growth of the cultural and creative sector through innovative carbon reduction initiatives, and plays its full part to support Greater Manchester’s zero carbon ambition. 

Helsingborg Concert Hall & Symphony Orchestra aspires to be a cultural institution that promotes development in the music industry, seeking new ways forward. As a part of this strategic work, their season 20/21 will be dedicated to the climate and different aspects of sustainability. The Symphony Orchestra will present a year of sustainable music, at the same time as the work with prioritising musicians and conductors who choses environmentally friendly ways of travelling.

Alison Criddle is HOME’s Projects and Sustainability Coordinator, facilitating environmental sustainability throughout the organisation and its activities. She is an experienced Carbon Literacy trainer and lead apiarist for HOME’s honeybee hives. 

Diego Galafassi, Brazilian-born transdisciplinary researcher, artist and producer now living in Sweden. With a Ph.D. in Sustainability Science, as well as a collection of works that include immersive experience “Breathe” (Sundance 2020), films ”The Life of Lines” and UNESCO Patronage project ”Charismatic Megafauna” (CPH:DOX 2019), he has been exploring the connection between arts and sciences for his entire career.

Moderator: Maria Hansen, Executive Director ELIA

Maria Hansen is Executive Director of ELIA, the globally connected European network of Higher ArtsEducation. She worked in the performing arts for more than 30 years, in Canada and the Netherlands.  Maria has worked on environmental sustainability in the cultural field for many years. As director of the theatre and concert hall in Haarlem (NL), she was a driving force in achieving green certification for nine cultural organisations . Maria leads the climate change package of the SHIFT project.
