Webinar: Participatory governance in cultural organizations

The term ‘participatory governance’ has been widely used in the cultural field over the last decade, but it still has a blurred meaning describing different things. What do we actually mean by it? How can this concept relate to your cultural organization? In the workshop we’ll explore the connections of participation and governance, and their importance for cultural projects and initiatives. Through case studies of european cultural organizations and practical exercises, you will discover models of participatory governance and strategies to involve stakeholders, citizens and also members of their own organizations.

This webinar was developed by Trans Europe Halles as part of the SHIFT project (co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union) in collaboration with International Resource Office.

The webinar will be held in English.

Facilitator: Francesco Campagnari

Francesco holds a PhD in Regional planning and public policy from Università IUAV di Venezia, Italy. Within a broader interest in the innovation of public policy and urban planning, his research and training activities focus on innovation and learning in citizens’ initiatives through participatory practices. He is a consultant for Trans Europe Halles on the participatory governance of cultural organizations.
