Webinar series: Creative Europe Cooperation projects – priorities

A new call for European Cooperation projects under the Creative Europe programmes is expected to open shortly. Therefore, IRO in cooperation with the Swedish Creative Europe Desk, is inviting to a series of breakfast webinars on the different priorities for the call.

…in line with the European Green Deal and the New European Bauhaus, to co-create, adopt and disseminate more environment-friendly practices, as well as to raise awareness on sustainable development through cultural activities.

SPEAKERS: Dea Vidović (Kultura Nova Foundation), Marta Jalšovec (Kultura Nova Foundation), Roxana Apostol (Trans Europe Halles)

Kultura Nova Foundation is a Croatian public foundation supporting civil society organisations in the field of contemporary arts and culture. In the framework of the i-Portunus Houses project, funded by the European Commission under the Creative Europe programme, the foundation has conducted a research on mobility in culture, results of which are published in a four-volume publication. Volume 2 “Study on Mobility in Culture: Perspectives of Artists/Cultural Professionals, Hosts, and Funders” features an exploratory analysis of experiences, practices, needs, priorities and views of different actors concerning mobility in culture. In this session, they will shortly present the crucial findings of the study related to sustainable and green mobility, as well as recommendations and scenario for the future of sustainable mobility in culture. The presentation will be carried out by Dea Vidović, the director of the foundation and research lead, and Marta Jalšovec, foundation’s research associate and one of the authors of the study.

Roxana Apostol, Senior Project Manager at Trans Europe Halles, is project manager for the Creative Europe Project Rebuilding to Last, this sessions inspirational example. The aim of the project is to aim to build the capacity of cultural spaces to address the sustainable futures of their buildings and organisations through inspiring and leading sustainable transformation. The vision is to enable grassroots and community-led cultural spaces to become environmentally sustainable, energy efficient, carbon neutral facilities that not only have a positive impact on the users and local communities but also become inspirational leaders in a new movement for green culture, in Europe and across the world.

…to help the European cultural and creative sectors to undertake or accelerate their digital transition, also as a response to the COVID-19 crisis

SPEAKER: Yohann Floch (FACE) and Per Myrén (Change Maker AB)

Working for independent arts organisations and cultural institutions, Yohann Floch has designed, coordinated or contributed to many European cooperation projects and pilot international collaborations over the years. He has been an external expert for governmental bodies and private foundations, and led or (co)authored European studies. Yohann is the director of operations of On the Move and manages FACE, a resource platform that facilitates European capacity building programmes in the contemporary performing arts field. He is international advisory board member of the Danish organisation IMMART – International Migration Meets the Arts.

Per Myrén is head of development and a training manager at Change Maker AB. He has carried out several European collaboration projects. In the project EUdigiTAC he combined waeving and digital culture. One of the consortiums objectives was to build the capacity of “non­-digital native” artisans to adapt to the digital shift, providing them with skills to use digital technologies within their artistic/creative and business process.

Fairooz Tamimi, Director of Strategic Development at Trans Europe Halles. She will speak about strategies for diversity and about the project Cultural Transformation Movement, that just was granted support through the Creative Europe programme.
