About IRO

The International Resource Office (IRO) is a regional initiative that aims to assist Skåne’s cultural actors with support, tips, and tailored advice on international cultural cooperation and EU support. The office is run by Trans Europe Halles with financial support from Region Skåne.

Starting in October 2015, Region Skåne has allocated SEK 500,000 to a regional resource that will encourage cultural actors to participate more widely in EU-funded cooperation projects.

Trans Europe Halles was awarded a contribution for efforts such as skills development, project development, international networking, and support for writing applications for EU funding.

There are several reasons for encouraging Skåne cultural actors to participate more widely in EU-funded cooperation projects. In part, such co-operation generally has a competence-enhancing and an operational development effect, and, on the other hand, it leads to a larger proportion of EU funds contributing to the development of Skåne. The initiative is the result of a dialogue between Kultur Skåne and representatives of Skåne’s cultural life.

Trans Europe Halles’ unique position as an internationally active network with local and regional connections allows the resource office to draw on a broad spectrum of knowledge and expertise, as well as to communicate with international contacts and create new partnerships for Skåne’s cultural life.

IRO offers a variety of services, such as strategic planning, networking and partnership creation, advice on administrative procedures, and practical tools for successful EU applications and project management.

We turn to those who:
  • Are developing an application and need guidance up until deadline

  • Are thinking about applying for EU-funds and want help in writing a good applicationn

  • Have an idea that you want to develop but need assistance

  • Are seeking potential partners for international cooperation

  • Under consultation, you can read more about how we work and what services we offer.

IRO has received continued funding for 2019 from Region Skåne.
